Special Populations

I see a wide range of people in my practice from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances. Based on my life experiences and training, there are certain populations of people that may be drawn to seek me out specifically.

Athletes

My own experience in college athletics gives me a unique perspective and appreciation for the unique struggles that sports have on the mind. There are so many sources of anxiety: performance, politics, injury, and relationship management. Oftentimes, the amount of pressure put on you falls short of the rewards that you receive. It’s rare for psychiatrists to have an intimate understanding of what it takes to perform at a high level in sport, and I believe my experience allows for a deeper connection that facilitates more treatment success for athletes.

New Parents

The step into parenthood brings about a host of fears, worries, and stresses that you are experiencing for the first time. People also find their struggles from the past that were easy to ignore before are intensified and must be processed as you decide how you want to raise your child. This existential moment can be overwhelming and I’m here to bring guidance and grounding.

LGBTQ+

As an ally to you in this community, I am constantly engaged with your experience, vigilant about your safety, and want you to feel validated and cared for. Living with a marginalized identity in our world takes an approach to life that requires more community and recovery and your mental health team should be a part of the restorative support.
